Q - question

How to switch drawing display to monochrome?

A - answer In R14 there was an option to switch drawing color display to view in Monochrome (black and white).
Since AutoCAD 2000 this option is not available (due to the new display Heidi driver). Nevertheless, in Layouts you can set the display of colors depending on plot styles (and so e.g also the Monochrome plot style). See PAGESETUP, Display plotstyles.

If you want to switch to monochrome only because of WMF clipboard copying (e.g. to copy your drawing to Word), you can use the BetterWMF addon utility to perform this conversion on the fly.
