MAP2SDF problem: Could not open FDO connection - SDF version 2.1, not 3.

After you export a SDF2 file from AutoCAD Map or Civil using the MAP2SDF command, the resulting file cannot be read over the FDO. The error displayed is:

Could not open FDO connection.
SDF file appears to be version 2.1 or older. Please convert to SDF version 3.

The Autodesk FDO provider for SDF does not support the old SDF2 format. For the SDF 3 format use the new AutoCAD Map command: MAPDWGTOSDF. You can use it also to convert an existing SDF 2 file to version 3.

To batch convert multiple SDF2 files to SDF3 you can use the option "Load procedure" in MapGuide Studio (version 2007 or higher).
