Q - question

How to convert a DWG drawing to SVG?

A - answer If you need to get your 2D drawing from AutoCAD as a vector file in the SVG format (Scalable Vector Graphics; vector-graphics XML-based format for internet), you can use the tool Autodesk SketchBook Designer.

From your AutoCAD Design Suite (or other Design Suite set, or Inventor LT Suite 2013) run SketchBook Designer, use File > Import to load your 2D DWG or DXF file and convert it with File > Export to a SVG file. You can open this file directly e.g. in Internet Explorer. SketchBook Designer can so act as a converter DWG-SVG or DXF-SVG.

The SketchBook application creates files in the specification of SVGT (SVG Tiny, also for mobile devices) version 1.2.
