New CAD tools

We offer many of our utilities as free or shareware CAD tools for download. Recently released or updated CAD utilities:

• ACADtweet - Twitter for AutoCAD - send and read tweets (statuses) directly from AutoCAD command line
• SplitDrawing - Inventor VBA macro splits a multiple sheet drawing to individual drawings (IDW/DWG)
• FLay - force layer for selected commands (drawing objects), AutoCAD LISP reactor
• XOffset - multiple offset command - offsets polylines inwards/outwards or symmetrically
• srxTEXT - search and replace AutoCAD drawing texts using regular expressions, supports batch scripts, table replacements and numeric interval search
• InsertC + BlockC - insert new (or renumber existing) blocks with incrementing numbers in attributes (incremental numbering, counter)
• PlotDWGarr + LayDWGarr - plots a rectangular array of drawings from the DWG modelspace, or generate a set of layouts

New AutoCAD 2012

Autodesk released a new version of its most popular software - AutoCAD 2012. Version 2012 brings new dynamic arrays (2D+3D), support for many "foreign" CAD formats (incl. Catia, Pro/E, Solidworks, NX), communication with the online version AutoCAD WS for collaborative DWG review for any OS platform (including mobile devices), 2D views of 3D models, new raster formats and many other improvements.

Inventor 2012 comes in "Design Suites" packages

There are lots of new features in the recently released Inventor 2012 - e.g. the enhanced user interface (circular menus from Alias), performance (up to 10x faster drawing views), model repair, visual styles - but maybe the biggest new "feature" is the new packaging. Inventor (like many other Autodesk CAD software) comes as complete set of CAD tools packaged in a compact "Product Design Suite" or "Factory Design Suite". These tools cover the design process from the conceptual design up to the visualization.
