New CAD tools

We offer many of our utilities as free CAD tools for download. Recently released CAD utilities:

• AutoPDF/AutoDWF is a free tool which automatically publishes a PDF or DWF copy of your drawing on every Save operation. You can set many options for the publishing process.
• FLay reactor automatically places dimensions, hatches, texts or any other drawing objects you draw into specified AutoCAD layers (you don't need to switch layers manually).
• TURBO is a tool which switches your AutoCAD to faster mode by setting all relevant variables influencing its performance. Worth trying if your AutoCAD works slowly.
• DBXscanSHX scans folders for DWG files containing references to SHX files - it generates a report and you can identify possible missing SHX files. DBXscanSHX is a part of the DBX family of batch tools scanning for Xrefs, AEC objects, VBA macros, etc. - see DBX Tools.
• PreSave reactor performs selected actions before any Save operation in AutoCAD. You can zoom, set layer, purge, saveAs a second copy to a different format, etc.

Budweiser DWG benchmark

Many CAD applications and vendors claim "full" or "100%" compatibility with the Autodesk (AutoCAD) DWG file format. We have created a benchmark drawing (using plain AutoCAD) to verify these claims. So far no non-Autodesk application has succeeded to read and interpret the BUDWEISER.DWG benchmark drawing in all its tests.
BUDWEISER.DWG is now available also in the AutoCAD DWG2010 format.

Autodesk Homestyler - free from the cloud

Autodesk Homestyler (former "Project Dragonfly") is a free web application for designing 2D and 3D room layouts. You can use it for your home redesign or office layouts. Homestyler contains a large library of furniture and surface materials. Finished designs can be exported to DWG and RVT (Revit) files, or shared online. The whole application runs in your web browser.
