New CAD tools

We offer many of our utilities as free or shareware CAD tools for download. Recently released or updated CAD utilities:

Autodesk Project Galileo is an easy-to-use conceptual design tool integrating GIS, BIM and CAD data for creating infrastructure and urban projects. It offers easy "game-like" tools for manipulating large datasets from various sources to present and analyze 3D context of a project and its environment.

AutoCAD WS Mobile 1.2 - DWG editor for Apple iPad and iPhone

AutoCAD WS is a popular browser-based free DWG editor and viewer (available online at www.autocadws.com).

Its mobile counterpart is the "AutoCAD WS Mobile" DWG editor. You can use it to view and edit DWGs - not only AutoCAD DWG drawings but now also for Inventor DWG files. The new version 1.2 is also localized into German, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.

New 3ds Max 2012

Autodesk announced a new version of the world's most popular 3D animation and visualization software - 3ds Max 2012. Max 2012 is built on a new graphical kernel "Nitrous" that uses multi-core processors (CPU) and graphics card processors (GPU) to dramatically increase performance and quality of viewport display in large 3D scenes. New intelligent "Substance" textures are resolution-indenpendent. NVIDIA PhysX is used to compute dynamic simulations inside 3ds Max. The integrated "iray Renderer" uses the iray rendering technology by mental images supporting hardware acceleration of NVIDIA GPUs.

Online STL2DWG converter

A new feature on the CADforum.cz portal is the web application that converts (translates) any text- or binary STL file (3D stereolitography) to AutoCAD 3D entities. Choose your STL file (max. 20MB), start the upload with the "Convert" button and let the file upload finish. The result of the conversion can be then downloaded and dragged to the AutoCAD window (SCR file), or directly opened (DXF file) - it will be loaded/imported automatically.
