New CAD and GIS tools

We offer many of our utilities as free or shareware CAD tools for download. Recently released or updated CAD utilities:

• JobTime - time-tracking reactor - net editing time spent on DWG drawings (edittime)
• TRANS - easy translation of AutoCAD drawing texts - either manual, Trados-assisted (translation memory), or automatic via Google Translate
• FLay - force layer for selected commands (drawing objects), AutoCAD LISP reactor
• RoundT - round drawing texts to given number of decimal places
• GetCol - show real color of the selected object, incl. bylayer and block-nested
• SysVarLock - protects (watches) defined AutoCAD system variables from assigning defined values
• InsertBlks - insert all DWG files in a folder as blocks
• Click2XLS - export clicked point coordinates to Excel sheets
• Depends - list all file dependencies in the current DWG - xrefs, images, fonts, underlays, etc.
• SlopeTick - draw slope tickmarks (batter lines, hatches) between two polylines
• PreSave reactor - perform selected actions before any Save operation (zoom, layer, purge, preview, saveAs...)
• PSfixTxt - add prefix or suffix to the selected drawing texts (LISP)

AutoCAD WS gets momentum

More than 2 million users have already downloaded the free mobile (or web-based) version of AutoCAD. AutoCAD WS for Apple iOS mobile devices and for AutoCAD WS Android phones and tablets can display, measure, edit, share and publish 2D DWG drawings - anywhere. The drawings are stored in the Autodesk cloud - they can be uploaded either manually or synchronized automatically through the "online" ribbon in AutoCAD 2012.

AutoCAD and LT 2012 for Mac

During the "DESIGN816" event held on Aug 16th, Autodesk has launched three new AutoCAD versions for Mac OS X Lion - AutoCAD 2012 for Mac, lower priced AutoCAD LT 2012 for Mac and a free native desktop version of AutoCAD WS for Mac. AutoCAD 2012 for Mac offers similar new functions as its Windows counterpart.

Project Spark - Revit LT

Autodesk Project Spark is a new, limited version of the BIM application Autodesk Revit Architecture. This software may become "Revit LT" in future. Spark offers similar limitations as AutoCAD LT compared to the full AutoCAD - no rendering, no API, limited worksharing, no in-place families, no point-clouds, no design options, nor groups. Unlike AutoCAD LT, Spark supports full 3D. Spark is available as a free "technology preview" for Windows 32/64-bit.
